If you’re a Beyoncé fan, you may remember sisters Chloe x Halle when they uploaded a flawless cover of “Pretty Hurts” back in 2013. Off of that performance, Bey signed the teenage girls to her label Parkwood Entertainment and they have finally released their first single, “Drop.”
Written and produced by Chloe and Halle, who are now 17 and 16, the girls sing over a deep 808 bass that would rattle any trunk about being tired of hearing the same ole song. Seriously, bump it in your car.
“‘DROP’ is very special to us because it was one of the first songs we fully wrote and produced ourselves,” they told Fader. “It gave us the courage to trust our instincts. To see how it was made from our living room, to turning into something much bigger, is super exciting! We’re so happy that we got to do our first video in such a huge way, and we have Beyoncé to thank for that. We love her so much.”
